Classy, stylish, sophisticated atmosphere and some of the most elaborate food in town. Lucky’s menu, created by owners Matt and Brooke Kelley themselves, features something appealing for everyone. The menu was inspired by Matt’s extensive culinary training and visiting many culturally diverse places such as New York, Chicago and Mexico to create this lush menu found at Lucky’s. These menu items are very important and unique to Matt, Brooke, and their family.
The appetizer that we started off with was very unique, and very good! White bean Puree topped with olive oil and spices with a side of Flatbread for dipping. This unique dip had the consistency of hummus, and tasted a lot like it too.
We experienced a 2nd appetizer that was unreal! The Grilled Flatbread topped with crispy sage, fig, goat cheese and pear, and drizzled with white truffle oil was bursting with flavor. I made sure to savor each bite so that I could enjoy the individual flavors. My friend and I were overwhelmed at the taste of this unique appetizer.
My friend ordered the Grilled Chicken and Hominy Soup. Exploding with flavor, this soup contained hominy, avocado, lime, sour cream, cheese and tortilla strips and was engulfed in a wonderfully flavored broth. This Spanish-like dish yielded an amazing smell and flavor with a citrus splash!
Now for the main dish! We were so excited when the waitress brought in this Asian Style Pork Chop with House-made Mustard, a side of smashed Yukon Potatoes, and Italian Green Beans. The pork chop was so tender and juicy. We later found out from owner Brooke Kelley that the majority of their meat goes through a very special process that makes contributes to tenderness. First the meat is placed in a brine solution for 4 days, then it is marinated for 4 days. What a beautiful process, and man was it good! The mustard had a sweet yet spicy flavor and really added a nice compliment to the sweet flavor of the meat. The potatoes were so flavorful and melted in my mouth. The green beans were not as impressive, I think they may have been a little overcooked or just not as fresh.
My favorite, of course, was the Key Lime Coconut Cake. This was a layered white cake with a thin layer of key-lime custard in the center. Dusted with coconut, topped with cream cheese frosting, drizzled with lime honey and garnished with lime whip cream! I was speechless! This has to be one of the most intense desserts I have ever tried. As I bit down on the first bite, I first tasted the key lime custard then felt the crunch from the coconut the cream cheese melted the flavors together, then the honey lime dressing gave it another pop of flavor. I am so impressed, and will definitely order this again.
I could not believe the flavor of everything at this place! I can’t wait to go back!
Lucky’s has an amazing atmosphere perfect for a special date, night out with friends or formal business lunch. The service is astounding, and we were very happy with everything. The extensive wine list is one thing that Lucky’s is known for. “Many people come for the appetizers and drinks”, said Brooke Kelley. Her and Matt are very proud of their restaurant, and have a very good following in Tulsa. The Sunday brunch is very well-known around town and gets a great turnout.
